William Morris began designing wallpapers in the 1860's which were hand-painted in London using wood blocks and mineral based natural pigments.

Morris created stunningly beautiful prints with complex rhythms and movement which seemed to capture the randomness and symmetry of nature.

Compton was William morris Last Design for his House'Compton' Outside Wolverhampton in which William Morris Redesigning the Interior in 1896.
The Original Design Required Two Sets of Wood Blocks to Print all 28 Colours Owing to the Large Vertical Pattern.
Both Were Executed as a Wallpaper and as a Printed Textile.
